RACV - Victorianisms: things people from Victoria say and do differently (June 2022)
In September 2021, comedian and TV host Andy Lee used his show 'The Hundred with Andy Lee' to run a poll on whether Australians thought 'parma' or 'parmi' was the correct shortening for the noun parmigiana.
The Australia-wide audience decided on 'parmi', which received 54% of the vote.
Andy Lee joked in a tweet after the show that he 'took [the result] badly' given that he is from Victoria, where 'parma' is the dominant variant. In this way, he is displaying an identity as a Victorian.
